**About the Role** We are looking for a reliable, technically skilled **WordPress Plugin Developer & Site**
**Maintenance Engineer** to manage, maintain, and develop custom solutions for our WordPress and WooCommerce infrastructure.
This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) designed for a long-term partnership. Because Hubstaff talent profiles lack built-in rating histories, the position begins with a **mandatory 30-day paid evaluation period at $5/hr**, after which compensation will be reviewed based on performance, code quality, and delivery speed.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **WooCommerce & Stripe Integrations:** Configure, troubleshoot, and extend WooCommerce setups, subscription gateways, and custom Stripe API checkouts/webhooks.
* **Custom Plugin Development:** Write clean, modular, and secure PHP plugins and hooks adhering to WordPress core standards.
* **API & Third-Party Integrations:** Connect external services, marketing tools, and webhooks via WordPress REST API.
* **Routine Site Maintenance:** Manage plugin/core updates across staging and production, monitor server health, optimize database queries, and resolve technical conflicts.
* **Security & Reliability:** Implement automated backups, security hardenings, and uptime monitoring to ensure zero disruption to live transactions.
**Requirements & Qualifications**
* Proven experience building and maintaining **WordPress plugins** and **WooCommerce / Stripe** implementations.
* Strong backend foundation in **PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, REST APIs**, and CSS/HTML.
* Solid understanding of database optimization, caching layers, and troubleshooting fatal errors or hook conflicts.
* Ability to work 20 hours weekly tracked through Hubstaff.
