Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and nursing support tasks in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home care. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting the nursing team to ensure high-quality patient care. Flexibility to work any shift and adaptability to different care units are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living such as hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and positioning.
• Perform range of motion exercises and provide skin care.
• Collect patient data and specimens, including urine, stool, sputum, and vital signs.
• Communicate patient status and report changes to licensed nursing staff.
• Support patient care procedures like incentive spirometry, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy setup, and suctioning.
• Prepare patient rooms, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide post-mortem care.
• Assist in emergency situations and coordinate equipment and supply needs.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, data entry, and patient registration support.
• Maintain and clean medical equipment as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification at hire.
• Ability to provide compassionate and efficient patient care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in hospital, long-term care, or home care settings.
• Familiarity with various care units such as SNF, ICF, medical, and surgical.
• Ability to perform additional clinical tasks like EKGs or blood sugar testing.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• No set days off; flexibility and availability for rotating shifts required.
• Work environment includes hospitals, long-term care facilities, and potentially home care settings.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
• Shift assignments may vary and include day, evening, night, and weekend rotations.
• Employee must be willing and able to work any assigned shift without fixed days off.
